not bad actually, the food is OK, tons of fried stuff, chicken items, and had some seafood and beef options which were not bad at all. it's clean and the service is decent. i wish that the chicken sauces were more varied, they all were too sweet to me!

It's an average Chinese buffet, with so many different chicken options. It fills exactly why your expecting from a Chinese buffet.

In my quest for palatable Chinese cuisine in the area, I am finding myself still searching. China Wok Buffet in Grand Blanc is definately not the place. They are located in the Grand Mall on Saginaw St., by Kroger. They offer $6 lunch and $9 dinner buffet. They also have carry out. I am glad we decided to try the dinner buffet before getting the carry out, especially If the buffet is any indication of the quality of their food available for take out. The buffet sucked. The sauces were all watered down and soupy. The selection was minimal. The Fried Rice merely had chicken in it, no veggies or anything else (WTF!?). My stomach says it doesn't see us returning to this establishment. blah. 1 star.

If you want really good Chinese food, try Empress of China on Dort Hwy (across from Nathan J's). I you just want to gorge yourself on some decent greasy Chinese, head to the China Wok Buffet. The food is decent, but it's not great. It is affordable and you can eat until you puke.

I had to update my review because the last time I came in a lot of stuff was cold. Sucks because the first time I came everything was really good. The soup is still phenomenal.

This place is nothing special. Its the tired typical Chinese buffet food. You aren't going to be wow'd by anything. Also the food is often not fresh. The noodles are actually dried out they had sat so long our last visit. They are in a great location, its to bad they food isn't better. The decor is EXTREMELY old and needing an update.

Very good food for the price! Stop in here quite a bit for take-out. Try it - you'll like it!

There aren't a good deal of options for decent Chinese food in Grand Blanc, including the China Wok. Can definitely support other reviewers notes on the place being clean and the staff attentive, but the food is lacking in flavor, variety and presentation (even for a buffet). There is a distinct lack of vegetables on the buffet (green beans and potatoes), all else is pretty much the same color and texture. Mind you, I am not actually picky when it comes to Chinese food, I will eat at airport chains every chance I get, but this place doesn't hit the mark. Seems like the buffet itself was built for better times (which this being MI, it probably was) so you have large containers which always have just enough food in them to make it look like you are getting the last serving (except for the egg rolls and rice). I get it, but with so many of the sauce dishes (Sesame Chicken) watered down, it doesn't look very good. Be prepared to grab on e of the sauce bottles if you want any flavor besides sweet. All this being said, it's a good value for the price, and the egg rolls and spring rolls are good. Hot and sour soup is decent, but has waaaay too many mushrooms of different varieties as well.

Ok. So when I'm going to a buffet, I expect two things -- greasy food but with a pretty good taste, and a barrage of options that are average in quality. The appeal here is not the tasty authenticity of ethnic cuisine -- it's the cuisine in limitless quantities. The soup is pretty delicious, as are the doughnut circles. Everything else isn't BAD -- it's just not that good. As someone who has been to a fair share of Chinese buffets, this one isn't terrible... but there are better.

Fantastic buffet! Pretty clean and quiet. Food is always fresh. Nice variety. Friendly enough staff. No complaints.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
